Rajasthan Camel Safari

The
Indian desert is neither deserted nor sterile. It is rich in art and culture
and living natural Flora and Fauna. It is a desert none the less, with spaces,
wide horizons, beautiful nights, and incredible constellations in the big clear
dark sky. Some buried in the sands of the Rajasthan desert are a great many
archaeological gems, while others lie in ruins scattered on land. They tell
the story of its prosperous past. The present is no less interesting. The villages
of colorful Rajasthan are very special, for each home is a treasure house of
stone carvings and wall paintings. Entrance to each one of them is fabulously
decorated as the status symbol of the desert man.
The desert is unique in its natural flora. In spring the seemingly dry trees
blush with color. Every bush, despite the general lack of water, is extravagant
in bloom. The land which at first sight looks vacant, is full of life. The handsome
Black buck, the Indian Gazelle, Desert Fox, and the rarest of the bird, the
Great Indian Bustard, rich avifouna and curious varieties of Lizards including
spiny tail, enrich the environment of the desert. A camel safari through such
a country with stopovers at the fabled royal palaces, must naturally transport
the traveler back to the days of incense, myths and heady fun.
